The Sunnybank Community & Sports Club employs over 60 people. Most of our employees are "Locals" that really know and understand how important it is to provide "excellence in service" for our members and guests. The club provides a safe and caring atmosphere offering casual, part-time and full time positions.
There are many opportunities for staff advancement through on job training and study. In April 2011 Sunnybank Community & Sports Club was honoured to receive the Club Queensland Award for Best Club Human Resources Practices In Queensland, recognising the efforts the club puts into recruiting, developing and maintaining its great team.
The club’s Career Development Programme, developed and conducted in conjunction with Academy Hospitality Australia, is designed for our employees to seek further qualification and advancement within the Club industry and who are seeking future supervisory and managerial roles. The programme is self-paced by a combination of on-the-job and tutorial study. With on-line web-based learning facilities and trainer support, all participants have the capacity to complete their training in real-time yet at a pace that is reflective of their learning requirements. The long term aim of the Career Development Programme is for successful candidates who complete this programme to go on to work in senior positions within this club. The programme is now in its third year and already we have 6 Hospitality Diploma graduates and 11 employees who have successfully completed a Certificate 3 in Hospitality Operations.
The programme also allows all employees to undergo mandatory compliance training online. This includes RSA, RSG, Emergency Control and Workplace Health and Safety. The Club has also developed a number of quality bursary programmes to reward our top team members and to provide some practical hands on educational opportunities.
