Russell was born and bred in Brisbane but has had the bulk of his musical involvement in Sydney. He played in the pub scene in his band Confidante and in the club scene as Musical Director with Triple Treat/Strictly Sho-Bizz /Stars Band (Clive and Susie Smither, Chris Farnham), as well as a gun for hire in other projects. Back in Brisbane now, Russell has been focusing on solo acoustic guitar and vocals.
